Ruffles,ruffles, ruffles!!!

This is a style post focusing on this exact dress! When I zipped it up it fit like a glove and hugged my curves in all the right places. It’s so cute for day time because it’s gingham which gives it a picnicy feel. You can also dress it up a little like I did today with a pair of high heels like these

I love multi functional pieces that you can carry for day or night.

Now that our summer holiday is fast approaching I feel like I have packing on the brain and I need to take things with me that can “cross function” so I don’t have to over stuff my luggage.

Ill take my fav summer things that I’ve been wearing the most, or think will look cutest in pictures. Then I’ll check to see if I can wear them in multiple locations, and events.

This one ticks the boxes.

I LOVE the ruffle trend for summer too. It’s so fun a flirty without being to “out there”.

What are your favorite things to pack for Summer vacation?!!

Happy Monday!!

Let me introduce you to my everyday uniform: The Little Black T-Shirt dress!

I’ve decided to go out and buy a bunch of cute little black soft dresses to wear on rotation every day. Since they don’t show dirt, are comfortable to move around in and look pulled together I’m sticking to this look for my everyday formula.

This makes scrambling to get ready in the morning a lot quicker than picking out a whole outfit. It also helps to hide dirt (yes, I know- It wasn’t always like this!!!!), because I may or my not wear the same outfit 2 or 3 days in a row 😉

When I found this cute puff sleeve ZARA dress, I was excited because it was something I could throw on and dash out the door in, and if I wore it over and over no one would notice.

Sometimes we even go from day to night, and I can swap out sneakers for heels! You could even add a necklace and blazer for a  meeting?! It’s a perfect staple.

My body fluctuates at times and a dress will always be flattering and fit comfortably.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to find a cute black dress.

Splurge on softness, and that’s it!

Good Friday EVERYONE!

Thank you for reading along

XO,

Stephany

It’s so hard writing this right now as it’s spring break and the house is full of kids.

It’s 4pm on Thursday and I’m about to go crazy with everyone jumping around all day.

The demands never seem to stop,”I need apple juice”, “Someone isn’t sharing”, and then BOOM the whole house is a complete disaster! Sometimes it feels as though life is just going from one meal to the next.

I’m starting to feel really tired and over it.

Even when we go somewhere it’s a whole to-do getting everyone dressed, ready, fed, out the door. Then, after a full day of being out, I still have meals when we get home, tired kids, bath time and then bedtime.

The issue we seem to struggle with the most, or what makes me the most exhausted is keeping things even. There is always someone who is worried about feeling left out, or not having the same opportunity as someone else.

I’m constantly questioning my parenting skills, wondering and hoping and praying that I am able to keep everything even and fair.

I think next Spring Break we will definitely take a trip out of town, mix things up and get out of the house. I even feel itchy to see something new, be somewhere new.

Explore, refresh, restart, reset.

Anyway, Tonight is a new night and we are about to go out and grab some dinner.

I guess it’s just been a busy and eventful few days (we spent last night at the ER with Alexander-long story, I’ll elaborate another time ;))

Hope you are having a wonderful day however you choose to spend it.

On a fun note, how cute is this Tobi caramel trench coat?! Feeling so London city girl in it, and I actually like the way it looks open almost more than I like it closed! This piece feels timeless and classic, and I can dress it up or down, which I LOVE!

One of my most frequent questions are about my hair color and what tips I may have to keep it long and healthy.

So I thought I would put a little list of my top tips to keep it strong, long and baby blonde!

Stephany’s Choice best hair practices

Keeping it blonde:

I have a hair stylist that I trust and love. When I get my hair highlighted I ask for a “mini partial” so only the top 20% of my hair gets treated (to look natural and control damage) .

I ask for the color “baby blonde” and make a point to say that I do not want any brass in my hair 🙂

I use violet shampoo to keep the brassiness down (2 times a week at least)

Keeping it healthy:

I don’t own a hair dryer or curling iron! I never put heat on my hair, I always dry it off with a towel and then let it air dry (if you see me on school runs now you understand :))

I never use hair spray or gel on my hair

I use tons and tons of hair conditioner and masks

I apply leave in detangler in my hair and then brush it gently

I try to wait every other day to wash it if I can help it

Keeping it long:

I try to wait as long as I can between hair appointments (2-3 months) and cuts

I cut my hair on my own straight across with no layers to look full and neat at the bottom

Thank you for reading along, do you have any favorite hair care tips or questions? Write to me in the comments below, I love hearing from you. All the hair products I live by are linked right here, so you don’t have to scour the web to find them 🙂

Don’t forget to check out Tobi , my new fav place to shop for cute outfits. This adorable dress is under $20 and comes in 4 gorgeous colors, I think I’m going to order them all! Loving these bell sleeves and cool vintage vibes!!

It may just be the prettiest time of the year.

Spring is around the corner and with it comes the feelings of rebirth and newness.

I am working on something really exciting at the moment and I can’t wait to share what it is. A life long dream in the making.

Until then, long outdoor walks, cool coffee drinks and singing out loud in the car with the music way up and the windows down!!

I’ll be ready to get my tan on, and flip flops too!

Spring can’t come soon enough and we are so ready.

This lovely little dress is so feminine and light. It’s really flattering and perfect for the season.

My little fedora hat is a savior on bad hair days!!

Happy Thursday everyone!
Ready for the weekend!

You can find me in pretty little floral dresses throughout the whole month of February!!

This is one of our favorite spots at the park, right by the water. It’s so pretty and quiet out here, and you can watch the ducks and birds sail down the water. I love a peaceful park bench and knowing that Angelina is safe to March around and not get into too much trouble is the best. Some days I even pick up the kids and come here with a box of donuts and some bread for the birds. They feed the birds and then we have a mini picnic on the bench and catch up on our day.

I saw this adorable little red floral dress the other day and was waiting for an excuse to take it home 🙂 When it finally dawned on me that it was February (= the month of love= wear red everyday+ flowers+ eat chocolate anytime) – I was sold!!

Typically I shy away from red but it’s growing on me.

I once picked up a make up book from the 80’s off of my mom’s stack of old books and I read something really interesting about finding the most flattering color for your own complexion:

Tip #1

hold up the dress to your body if you look at your face in the mirror then the color is flattering on you\\ if you look at the dress then the color is off because it doesn’t bring attention to YOU

Tip #2

hold up the dress to your face, if you see the bags under your eyes + the blemishes on your face then the color is not flattering on you \\ if you hold up the dress to your face and your eyes sparkle and your complexion looks good then it’s flattering!

I always try to keep these two tips in mind when I find something and I’m either on the fence about it, or I love the dress and color but am not sure if it’s flattering on ME.

Okay, the one exception to all this?!! When it’s festive season and you want to wear something because it fits in with the holiday. For example on Saint Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, etc..

Beisides who needs an excuse to wear florals? Flowers are pretty and they make us happy, in my opinion the more the merrier-on Valentine’s Day and beyond!!

PS. If you haven’t found an outfit for date night this little number is totally flirty and adorable. It’s under $100, really feminine, flattering and the fit is true to size. Also makes for a perfect transition into Spring!!

Have a wonderful day friend, and thank you for reading along!

Time management is something that I always struggled with.

I find that I am most productive when I have a list and a deadline. Of course balancing kids and trying to keep a deadline can be difficult.

I let go of a lot of stress when I prioritize. Sometimes, if I have too much on my plate and can’t get it all done I end up feeling like I’ve failed. This emotional set back makes it more difficult for me to muster up the courage to try again at times.

When I put together a logical timeline, I am able to allow a little flexibility for myself and the little ones. This makes it easier to cross things off my list, and motivates me to keep going.

I love to feel busy and productive. I hate to feel overwhelmed and frustrated.

One of my flaws (that I would never bring up at a job interview, haha) is working under pressure. I can do it, I’m just not very good at it. When we have 5 seconds to get out the door in the morning for an early doctor appointment, I end up crashing into furniture, can’t find my keys, lose my phone, and leaving in sneakers without socks.

I’ve learned a lot from Michael who has always been great with punctuality. One of the things I fell in love with him for was how time accurate and dependable he was. When he said he would pick me up at 6pm, he would be there at 6 pm. When he said he would call at 9:00 he would call at 9:00. He was someone that I could count on, and never played games with time.

I still have a tough time getting started in the mornings. Confession: I am not a morning person, never was, never will be. However, once I get started I feel unstoppable.

My saving grace is allowing myself to stop for breaks through out the day.

Having a routine also helps a lot. Now that Angelina is on a nap schedule (11-12:30) I can count on that time to do a little work, take a shower and have some lunch. That’s really all the time in the day that I need to myself.

All in all, it’s something I think I will constantly be trying to manage to make sure I get the most out of my day.

Over all the most important thing I have to keep in mind is never to waste it. Never to take one moment for granted.

I stumbled upon this little note the other day and I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since:

The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.

-Henry David Thoreau

It’s the start of the new year and already I can feel like 2017 is going to be a good one. There are a few changes I want to make and some goals I’d like to achieve but over all I’m looking back at 2016 as a wonderful time.

There were many pieces of motivation and inspiration that I want to take with me into the new year. I’ve complied a list of my favorite quotes that I have collected over time. On tough days when I loose my focus or my confidence I look back on these words and they remind me of where I am, who I am and what I am striving to accomplish.

I hope to build on these words and stay true to the strength, courage and determination that they’ve given me. Of course, many times I forget, or get caught up in the moment and lose sight of what I’ve accomplished.

Like everyone else, I have days when I feel less than happy, able or valuable. I can’t lose my baby weight fast enough, have worn the same outfit 3 days in a row, haven’t washed my hair or taken it out of my messy bun in forever. Over all (in my defense, haha) I always try my best.

At the end of the day what more can you do?I try not to dwell on the bad and celebrate the good.

Below are a list of my go to quotes as of this past year

I never lose. I either win or I learn. -Nelson Mandela

A head full of fear has no place for dreams.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up.

She who dares wins.

Self confidence is the best outfit

Be so good they can’t ignore you. – Steve Martin

I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life- and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do- Georgia O’Keefe

She believed she could, so she did

I’ve found the key to happiness. Stay the hell away from assholes.

Listen, I wish I could tell you it gets better. But it doesn’t get better, YOU get better. -Joan Rivers

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. – GOETHE

As you can probably tell I’m a major dreamer with huge goals for myself, and low self confidence. I try to go for my dreams, and try not to let myself get into the way.

It’s a continuous battle, maybe the biggest struggle I’ve always faced.  I want to show my children that they can have whatever they dream of if they fight for it, never give up and do it the right way. The best example you can give your children is how you choose to live your life, because they are watching. I want them to be proud of me, and show them that anything is achieveable with hard work.

What is your favorite quote? Do you have any favorites that keep you motivated? Follow more of my inspiration boards on Pinterest

Hello and welcome 2017!! Sparkle Sparkle it’s time to celebrate the birth of a brand new year.

Before moving ahead however, I have been reflecting on 2016 and what a wonderful year it has been. Of course no year goes by without its share of trials and disappointment. If you are going through something tricky, believe that your luck will shift. It always does. I have been working on improving a few aspects of my life. Of course, there are so many more things that I aspire to achieve in a day, week or year. I’ve put together a small handful that I have worked on and have brought positive results.

Hope you enjoy a few of my most promising achievements and memories:

Summer in Europe with family and friends

Traveling with 3 under 6 can be daunting but this was so beyond worth it. I don’t want to miss out on the world, and seeing new places and traveling is a gift we will all cherish forever.

Laying out activities for the children

last year Annabelle had to sit out of all activities including her favorite, ballet. I felt really guilty for her set back but was just not able to even think of committing to anything more than our basic school schedule. Now that Angelina is bigger and has a routine I have added several activities back on the program for Alexander and Annabelle. Currently they are enrolled in Soccer, Gymnastics, Ballet, Tap, Girl Scouts, bible school, and ice skating.

Date nights with Michael (no kiddies)

It’s the first time we have had constant uninterrupted adult time since becoming parents. We look forward to “date night” every Friday at least 2 times a month and it’s been the best. I recommend it to any couple. We so look forward to this time away from the home and day to day craziness. Sometimes we talk about the kids, sometimes about work, other times about the past, a lot of time on the future. In any case I am so happy we did.

Integrating personal gym time

This took me along time to come to terms with. I felt it selfish and put my self at the top of the priority list. Once I started however, I remembered how liberating it is to blow off steam, break a sweat, and reconnect with MY body again. For so long you share it with those little guys and having it back feels amazing.

Breastfeeding Anglina longterm

I did it. We hit the one year mark (and beyond). It wasn’t always easy, but it was beautiful and I will always cherish this year of closeness forever.

Finding a healthy and sustainable work/life balance

Setting a goal of 2 blog posts per week has been a realistic target for me. I try to carve out morning nap times 2 days a week to work on emails, etc…then the rest of my day belongs to the home, the children and the family.

What were your highlights of 2016?! Goals for 2017?! Thank you for reading along, and HAPPY NEW YEAR beautiful friend

And just like that Christmas is over. Typically I would be having Christmas withdrawals but this time I think I’m ready to celebrate the new year.

Now that Annabelle and Alexander are getting older it’s a lot more pressure to try to find them gifts that they will love. More importantly we try to keep things fair for the two of them.

Alexander got a big, huge, police car (his dream come true). All he wanted this year was a police car with,”lots of buttons, two seats, a siren, and it can go forward and backward”.. Annabelle is super into dolls this year and just wanted an American Girl doll. We ordered one that looked like her with blonde hair and green eyes which she promptly named, “Antoinette”.

I was freaking out on Christmas eve because Michael and my dad assembled the police car and it was totally massive. It took up my whole kitchen floor. When I looked over at the doll it seemed so small in comparison. So, we started to wrap tons of other gifts for Annabelle to try to make up for her “smaller” sized pile.

Two years ago we bought Alexander the perfect gift, one of those non battery operated cars and he loved it. I don’t think he even knew what else was under the tree. He spent the whole day jumping in and out of his car.We expected the same thing this year. All he would want to do was get in and get out.

To our surprise, all he wanted to do was unwrap gifts. In the end we put him in charge of unwrapping gifts for everyone. He opened all of Angelina’s 2 presents (haha) and all of mine. I’m not sure he was all that worried about what was in them. I think the thrill and surprise factor was what was he enjoyed.

Annabelle loved everything she got. She seemed really happy. All random and small gifts went into the stockings. DVDs, coloring books, fresh socks, some sweets, etc… It was a first for stockings and a huge hit.

The best part of the whole day was when my Grandparents arrived at noon for lunch. It made our day complete. The kids were so excited to show them what Santa got them.

My mom brought the kids metallic sneakers that lit up into flashing colored lights. Annabelle and Alexander put on a dance performance with their neon shoes. Watching them move so freely and so happily made eveything worth it.It wasn’t what they recieved or how much they received that made their day special. It was the feeling that they were heard, they were important, and that Santa thought they were very “good” this year. It was having their Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Uncles, Mom and Dad with them all morning and afternoon. We admired them, listened to them and cheered on their performances.

In the end, cliche or not, it was these moments, that made our day special. They are the most important things in the world and they are my gift, everyday of the year.

Thank you so much to Colored Organics for these super soft and cozy matching loungewear sets. Use the discount code: STEPHANY25 and receive 25% off your purchase!!

Merry Christmas from our little family to yours.
